Following tutorial is only applicable on LG G2’s Verizon device. If you have any other Android device, kindly ignore this tutorial. It’s not made for other devices. Prerequisites :

  • A proper USB data cable to connect your device to the PC
  • Make sure that USB Debugging option is enabled on your device
  • Your device should be charged up to 80% to perform the entire installation process
  • Required proper USB drives should be installed on your PC

Update LG G2 Verizon to Android 4.4.4 KitKat with CM11 M8 Custom ROM

Step 1 :

Download CM11 M8 Android 4.4.4 KitKat custom Firmware for LG G2 from the following link. Just click on to the link and it will start downloading.

Download CM11 M8 Android 4.4.4 KitKat 

Step 2 :

Download Google Apps to reinstall them back to your upgraded device. You can get them from the following link.

Download Google Apps 

Step 3 :

Connect your LG G2 device by using a proper USB data cable to your PC.


Step 4 :

Do transfer all the downloaded files from the above steps to your device’s external memory.

Step 5 :


Disconnect your device from the PC and turn it off.


Step 6 :


Boot your device into Recovery mode.

Press Volume Down + Home + Power button together. When you see something happens on your display, release the buttons. You are on your phone’s Recovery menu. You can navigate to options by using Volume up and Volume Down keys. To select any option, press Power button.


Step 7 :

Select data/factory reset. This option will delete all the data of the previous ROM from your device.


Step 8 :

Select Delete partition option to delete all the available partitions of your device.

Step 9 :


From the same page, select Advanced option and wipe dalvik cache after this.

Step 10 :


Select install zip from SD card option to select the ROM.

Step 11 :

Choose zip from sdcard option from the menu and select CM11 M8 Custom ROM files to install it to your device.

Step 12 :

Do repeat the same process and select Google Apps to reinstall them back to your device.


Step 13 :


After this, select +++++Go Back+++++ option from the same display and select reboot system now option. Your device will go reboot itself and will turn on into a normal mode.

If you wish to check the updated firmware from your device, go to the Settings option and select About Phone option. This will show you all the details of your device along with its Firmware details. See, it’s upgraded!
