Samsung started the battle of bigger smartphone with its Note series and now even Apple can’t resist joining it. But the biggest smartphone series was also started by none other than Samsung i.e. Mega and recently its second version was launched. Yes, you’re thinking it right, I’m talking about Samsung Galaxy Mega 2 and here I’m with its review.
If you want to have a unique looking Samsung phone then this isn’t the case again since it carries almost the same Galaxy smartphone design which Samsung had used blindly in every of its phone.

So it got the same design but the huge display is now fixed in compact size overall. This is achieved by minimizing the bezel sizes around the display and thus making it a bit comfortable to operate. Let’s break down its review.
It comes with 6 inch touch screen display which can support resolution of 720×1280 pixels and you can easily find that this isn’t the best display from Samsung but off course it can race among biggest ones.
The pixel density offered is just 245 ppi and that’s because of the large size of the display in front. Viewing angles are just average and I can’t say this display as bad nor as best. It lies somewhere between.
It’s powered by old Exynos 4415 chipset on which quad-core 1.5GHz processor had been added along with Mali-400 GPU and 1.5GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. This is how the CPU looks and its really awesome one.
It can easily match the multitasking and gaming need you got but comparatively the processing is bit lower than the one running on Snapdragon chipset of equivalent details. Yet, the performance is best and Samsung had implemented Android 4.4.4 KitKat operating system on it with its TouchWiz UI.
You’re not going to find any complain and Samsung’s software is still powerful enough to manage any of your requirements while the bigger estate on the front can let you do more.

It got 8MP rear camera and 2.1MP front. But this phone isn’t meant for photography. You can take pictures but they are never satisfying if you know what quality is. But again this smartphone isn’t for photography and I can give it for that.
During my testing, pictures were good and it was capable of recording full HD videos too. The rear got autofocus and LED flash to provide more features while touch focus, smile and face detection are also there in.
With connectivity features like LTE, dual band faster Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and NFC, Galaxy Mega 2 is surely a better upgrade than the last year model. It also got all four common sensors along with GPS to get you know where you’re moving around.
It’s powered by 2800mAh battery which can help it last at least 12 hours while using heavily and it can try lasting for a day but the bigger display can’t help it.
Overall, it’s a big phone with all smartphone features but with lots of comprises too. It totally depends on how much you love using bigger phones.
