Pre-requisite to Root Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge
Before you begin the rooting process, here are few things that you need to check and keep in your mind:
- Make sure your model number is SM-G935F / FD / X and SM-G935W8.
- You Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge must have TWRP recovery installed on it.
- Rooting the smartphone is going to void its warranty. However, you can un-root it anytime in order to regain its warranty.
- You need to download as well as install Samsung USB drivers before you connect your phone to your PC. You can also download the drivers from here.
- Your Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge must have at least 40 percent battery left. If it is less than that, charge your device before proceeding with the steps.
Steps to Root Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge
Step 1: Download Odin software from the link given below.
Step 2: Download the tar.md5 image from the link provided below.
Step 3: Download the SuperSU file from the link provided below.
Step 4: Extract Odin and then launch the software on your PC.
Step 5: In the Odin software, click on the box named AP. Another dialogue box will appear asking you to select a file.
Step 6: Select the tar.md5 downloaded file and click OK.
Step 7: Connect you Galaxy S7 to computer. The software will show green coloured box when the phone is properly connected.
Step 8: Start the process and disconnect you phone when it is complete.
Step 9: After the process is complete, restart your phone.
Step 10: Now download and copy SuperSU file and dm-verity and force encryption disabler on your Galaxy S7 Edge.
Step 11: Now restart your S7 Edge in recovery mode.
Step 12: Now install the dm-verity and force encryption disabler zip file in the recovery mode.
Step 13: Now install SuperSU file in the recovery mode by choosing “install zip from SD card” or any similar option.
Step 14: Reboot your Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge.
